How Diamond Blazer works

A transparent look at where our fragrances come from, how they're made, and why they cost what they cost — no industry jargon.

Home/How It Works

1. Where our oils come from

The most important part of any perfume isn't the bottle — it's the concentrated fragrance oil inside. We source ours from two established suppliers: an independent perfumery in Grasse, France (the historic capital of perfumery) and a fragrance house in Fair Lawn, New Jersey that has supplied major American brands for over forty years.

Both suppliers hold International Fragrance Association (IFRA) certifications and provide full Safety Data Sheets and allergen declarations with every batch we receive.

2. The blending process

Every Diamond Blazer fragrance is a proprietary composition — meaning we don't buy a finished perfume and repackage it. Reynolda and our in-house perfumer work with base accords from our suppliers and add their own top-note and heart-note modifications to create a scent that captures the character of an iconic reference while remaining our own formula.

Once we've finalized a composition, we produce it in batches of no more than 200 bottles at a time. Each batch macerates for 21 days in stainless-steel tanks before hand-filling — this "resting" period allows the notes to marry and produces a more rounded final scent.

3. Quality & compliance

Every batch is tested for:

4. Why we cost less

A $180 designer perfume typically contains $8–$14 of actual fragrance and packaging cost. The remaining $166+ pays for advertising, department-store shelf space, celebrity endorsements, and the retailer's margin.

Diamond Blazer skips all of that. We sell direct-to-consumer through this website, we do zero paid advertising outside of niche channels, and we run our own atelier — so the price you pay is closer to the true cost of what's inside the bottle, plus a fair margin for our team.

5. Packaging & sustainability

Our bottles are made from 40% recycled flint glass, produced in a factory in Ohio. Outer cartons use FSC-certified recycled card printed with soy-based inks. Shipping mailers are curbside-recyclable paper with water-activated tape — no plastic tape, no bubble wrap.

Empty bottles can be returned to us for refill or recycling; email admin@diamondblazerfragrance.co.za and we'll send a prepaid label with your next order.
